Network Marketing aka Multilevel Marketing (MLM, because there are multiple levels of commissions paid), Direct Selling (because the product is sold directly from the manufacturer to the end consumer, cutting out the middle man).

Network Marketing comes highly recommended by me because it allows the average person a chance to become a business owner, without the huge risks, very little effort is required to set up your business and there is no product idea needed.
Also, way less time and skill is required to get started and you don’t even have to be an expert like you normally would with starting up a traditional business. Best of all you need very little money to get started.

However, I do understand that since there are so many companies out there that it is a bit intimidating deciding what MLM opportunity is the best fit for you. Therefore, I have put together the five most important things that one should consider when choosing a Network Marketing opportunity.

1. How long has the company been in business? Is it financially sound?
Now considering the fact that you are probably wanting to build a financial wall around your family so strong that nothing can penetrate, please take the time to do some research to ensure the company you choose is here to stay.
Check to see that the company is debt free or at least financially sound. Does the company have the cash flow required to maintain, grow and keep pace with its future endeavors?
Best yet, does it have the capital needed to pay you commissions? Take the time to research, to find out if the company is a reliable one.
Always go with a brand that you can love and admire. Choose a company that has built a good reputation, cares for its distributors and has plans for global expansion.
2. Review the compensation plan
When you choose to join an MLM company I highly recommend that you review the compensation plan very closely and ask necessary questions for clarification.
So make sure you understand how you will get paid after all you are going into business to make money right?
So understanding the company’s compensation plan ensures that you can fast track your way to financial freedom.
Is there a proven system already in place that will make it easy for you to start making money? Is there a way to make immediate income? Will there be residual income?
3. Try to learn as much as possible about the company itself, including its leadership team, available training and support that will be available to you
Does the company have a strong leadership team? Remember that everything rises and falls on leadership.
Does the company have integrity? Does your sponsor appear to be in the business for the long haul?
What is the moral of the distributors and will you have access to adequate training information especially if you are new to the Network Marketing industry.
Will your up line be available to train, motivate, and mentor you? Also, know that if your sponsor is also new to the industry themselves, or may be unavailable from time to time, know if you will you have access to his or her upline sponsor if needed?
4. Consider the products and or services that you will be marketing
Make sure that the product or service will be in high demand and recession proof. Is the product is unique and highly consumable? I recommend choosing a company that has products and or services that you can be excited and proud to promote.
I also highly recommend choosing products be purchased over and over again. Not something that is going to be stockpiled in someone’s, garage. Choose consumable products ones that your customers will be willing to dip into their wallet to buy on demand once the original product is finished. Be sure that the product and or service not trendy but will it be here for generations to come.
5. Will you have fun?
Building a Network Marketing business sounds like it should be all work right? Not quite. Network Marketing can be so much fun depending on your circle, depending on your company, depending on you and the culture you create and contribute to. I personally have had some of the most fun at my company’s weekly meetings, at home parties, but the ultimate fun, in my opinion, has been the destination events. There numerous ways to have fun and I feel that Network Marketing has some of the most exciting people around, after all, you are an independent distributor in Network Marketing, and here you have no boss.
